Even the cooking grate is made from cast iron. Do you know what that means my friend? Well it means it heats slowly, but holds heat for long periods of time which makes it a better cooking choice over metal grates any day. The grills cooking surface is large.. 17-1/4 by 9 inches to be exact. Oh, did i mention it comes pre seasoned. A terrific feature is the draft door which controls heat. Im not going to lie, this thing weighs in at around thirty-five pounds.. but what would you expect from a cast iron grill.. huh? Im pretty sure you have owned one of those cheap, off type cast aluminum hibachi grills which just seem to fall apart after hard use lol.

The good news is that my little cast iron grill may out last me, as you should know cast iron is good for up to hundred years of use. What i like to do is get my coals ready, spray the cooking grate with my favorite grilling spray and start barbecuing.

Since this grill retains heat like a monster, cooking times may be a bit speedy than you may expect.
I love this grill…we prefer the taste of charcoal-grilled food over gas-grilled. This grill was costly, but after several charcoal grills,large and small, we finally found the “keeper!” You will get a LOT for your money, i know i did!

It cooks lots of food using relatively little charcoal, and since the grill surface is substantial, small pieces of food don’t fall through into the flames. I did not order a cover for the grill, and wish i had saved the box for dust-free storage. Oh well, a large towel works just fine. Have a wonderful day.
